ROLE SUMMARY:This role is for a business analyst with strong technical skills to take responsibility for metrics production for the Derivatives Governance Board
BACKGROUND
The DGB uses two metrics to oversee OTC derivatives infrastructure, and the progress of the SDII project.
THE ROLE INVOLVES -
- Supporting and enhancing existing metrics management system and process- data sourced from a variety of systems is stored in a database accessed through an excel front end.
- Gathering and analysing on-going requirements and implementing solutions to provide management level presentations and reports
- Reconciling data/systems issues and differences
- Liaising with data providers across regional business teams and IT to ensure timely and correct data/info provision
- Liaising with project managers and sponsors across the SDII organisation to ensure transparency of metrics data
- Ensuring definition and compliance with the programme reporting process and hierarchy
- Producing commentary on metric changes, validation and checking of explanations and unusual trends
- Support for many ad hoc queries and investigations from management and end-users
- Development of new metrics as required
Technical Skills and Business Knowledge
Required:
- Intermediate to advanced SQL (preferably Oracle)
- Essential database design and development
- Intermediate to advanced VBA (Excel)
- Strong MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
- Analytical thinker able to quickly resolve complex technical issues
- Ability to multi-task and accommodate varying levels of work load
- Track record of delivering small to medium size programming projects
Desirable:
- PL/SQL programming and IDE
- C# 3.0
