An excellent opportunity for a Collections Liaison Manager to join the Money Management team of a leading retail bank.

The location of this role is flexible as the client has sites throughout the UK.

Role Overview

Manage the external relationship with advisory and government bodies supporting consumers through debt management including IVAs. Shape policy in relation to internal and external money management standards and ensuring that developments and emerging issues are reflected in the approach and influence the industry on the approach to pre-delinquency.

Key Accountabilities

• Define strategy and process for engaging with External Debt Counsellors, IP’s and Banking associations.
• The interpretation of, and the provision of clear guidance on, principles, rules and guidance applicable under voluntary and statutory regulation including, but not limited to FSA Conduct of Business, Systems and Controls, Training and Competency and Dispute Resolution sourcebooks, Banking Code and OFT requirements and liaison with operating divisions on the development of procedures and practices to deliver effective and pragmatic compliance.
• •Point of contact for all external contact regarding money management activities within the Money advice sector.•Communicate to the Money Advice Sector the desire to provide a best in class service to customers in financial difficulty through pre-delinquency management. •Builds and maintains relationships internally and externally to the organisation achieving maximum co-operation and assistance in surpassing customer expectation. •Works in partnership with Retail and External Suppliers to drive forward innovative and co-ordinate solutions to improve service and business results. Review performance, identifying market trends, legal implications when implementing and shaping policy to maximise profit and increase efficiency.

Candidate Specification

• Excellent relationship management skills both internally and externally
• A thorough understanding of statutory and voluntary legislation and its application in the financial services industry with a proven ability to interpret rules and guidance to deliver clear business solutions.
• A firm grasp of business operations including sales/distribution mechanisms, support functions and significant processes/procedures.
• An understanding of business priorities, aligning activities to meet these in the construction of sound short, medium and long term plans with a proven ability to create innovative opportunities to change and influence the business.
• Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and influencing skills with the confidence to deal with colleagues at all levels across the Group. An ability to deal tactfully with Retail Management and 3rd parties by offering advice on issue resolution.
• The ability to motivate and develop others, individually or as part of a cross functional project group, in a constantly changing environment is essential.
• A self starter with obvious initiative and the ability to work without close supervision individually or, as part of a cross-functional project group.

The basic salary for this role is circa £50,000 plus car, bonus and package.
