Description:

The Commercial Risk function plays a vital role in the Commercial Banking strategy and an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Credit Ratings and Models team specialising in the management and development of the various credit scoring and credit rating models used within Commercial.

Credit scoring is a key driver of the credit strategy. Within the Commercial network extensive use is made of credit scoring as below:

Requests for new or revised facilities up to £50,000 are processed through the credit scoring system and the Customer Risk Support System (CRSS). Requests to renew lending where total facilities are up to £250,000 are processed through CRSS. All customers receive a monthly behavioural rating by way of a BDCS Risk Indicator.

The job holder will be responsible for monitoring the credit scoring systems and models to ensure that they continue to make the correct decisions. They will also be responsible for tracking the effectiveness of the policies that the decisions are subjected to.

The role requires a proven ability to analyse and interpret complex data. Experience of using SAS, MS Access and MS Excel would be an advantage, although training will be provided.

The successful candidate will be able to work on their own initiative, look beyond the obvious and have an appetite for detail and complexity. They will be an excellent communicator and able to produce comprehensive reports in a clear manner to an audience of senior management within Commercial.
