Description:
An overview of the role is to manage the Accounts Receivable exposure of UK & Ireland Marketing businesses in line with Global Credit Policy, while supporting the relevant marketing strategies.
Primary Accountabilities/Responsibilities include
- Review of New & existing customers creditworthiness, establishing credit limits, taking out security where appropriate to manage risk.
- Work with the business to establish Credit terms, methods of payment, and agreed level of exposure consistent with Global Credit Policy
- Provide a focal point for Credit issues for the Retail and Bulk businesses respectively
- Work with respective Sales Channel Strategy Teams, to influence the portfolio balance of Credit Risk vs. Profitability
- Liaison with customers to agree terms, and gain knowledge of business and financial standing
- Ongoing monitoring of exposures vs. credit limits
- Maintenance of Credit Files, with audit trail of Credit approvals, in compliance with agreed SOX processes
- Periodic reporting to Sales Channels on DSO's/Overdues and other meaningful metrics as agreed
- Manage Doubtful Debt provision in respect of customer portfolio
- Technical mentoring collectors, driving functional excellence. Providing cover for collectors in their absence
- Quality Control for overall credit service to the Marketing businesses
- Monthly reconciliation of accounts receivables for various COP companies
Critical Skills/Leadership Criteria
- Good Credit Analysis experience (ideally in the Oil industry) and/or a Professional Credit Qualification or part qualified ACCA, CIMA or ICM.
