Description:
One of the leading UK importers and distributors of fine foods for the retail trade are looking to recruit for a Credit Control Assistant to play an integral part in the development of the Credit control team.Reporting directly into the Credit Manager you will be given a great deal of responsibility and as such will be required to develop relationships with suppliers as well as all aspects of the Credit Control adminstration.
- To ensure that the payments received from customers are promptly processed onto customers accounts.
- To ensure that the banking is prepared daily by lunchtime
- To ensure that the drivers are told of cash to be collected from customers and that the cash received is processed in accordance with procedures.
- To ensure that credit notes for customers are promptly and correctly processed to the customers? accounts once signed off in accordance with procedures.
- To chase customers by telephone etc when payment due and resolve queries as soon as possible
- To liaise with sales people re the recovery of debts
- To ensure new sales ledger accounts are set up in accordance with procedures for setting credit limits etc
- To ensure procedures re problem debtors are followed by you and the sales teams in order to maximise the likelihood of recovering the debt up to and including court action.
- To assist with the basic filing and other tasks required by the credit control and accounts department
- To make suggestions for changes to procedures, systems etc in order to make your or your teams role easier, more effective or to maximise recovery of debt
- To undertake any other duties as appropriate within their competence as required by their line manger.
