Description:
Our client has a job for an experienced Credit Controller/Accounts Assistant to join the small accounting team based in newport.· The successful candidate will have total charge of the day-to-day management of the Debtors Ledger ? Chasing payments, allocating cash received, printing statements, vetting new customers, opening new accounts etc. Comprising over 200 accounts with a ledger value in excess of £1 million and including many European accounts.
· Candidates must also be able to liaise effectively with the customer services team to resolve credit/complaint issues from customers.
· Assisting the Financial Controller in compiling and analysing sales data to produce a variety of reports at month-end, completing Intrastat reports for HMR&C, and controlling the customer rebate schemes.
· The candidate should possess a sound range of skills for managing the sales ledger in a busy environment, and be able to work independently in the main areas, but co-operatively with other team members where necessary.
· A good telephone manner is essential
· Ability to speak a European language would be an advantage, but is not essential.
· Attention to detail and a professional attitude would also be expected.
· Effective communications is essential in our company and the candidate must possess a variety of good inter-personal skills, especially when dealing with our foreign customers where English is not the first language.
· Ideal candidates would be familiar with, or experienced in operating confidential invoice discounting facilities in a multi-currency environment.
· All candidates must be a car driver, as they will be expected to travel to the bank to make deposits etc.
· The company operates the Sage Line 100 accounting system for all its ledger transactions; full training would be given in the use of the system.
The company makes use of pivot tables in its analysis, so a good standard of ability is expected in the use of Microsoft Excel (intermediate Level). Training will be provided in the use of pivot tables to supplement existing Excel skills if necessary.
