Description:
Purpose of the job:To take day to day responsibility for chasing overdue monies owed and to provide good credit control practice for the organisation
Areas of accountability:
Chase outstanding debtors in a systematic and co-ordinated way dealing with any related customer queries.
Maintain appropriate records to clearly show sequence of communication with customers.
Deliver cash collection targets.
To post sales receipts to the correct customer account in a timely fashion.
Produce and issue customer statements monthly.
Knowledge/skills/qualifications required:
Proven track record in handling credit control.
A thorough understanding of the sales cycle and general accounting procedures.
Excellent organisational and administrative skills .
Excellent communication skills.
Customer focused.
Ability to work well within a team and inter-departmentally.
Ability to prioritise activities in order to meet targets.
Flexible to manage changing priorities.
Commercial awareness.
Self motivated with ability to use initiative.
Strong analytical skills.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced credit controller to work in a great public sector organisation in a close knit and friendly team.
They are initially looking to employ someone on an hourly rate and the successful individual will then be employed on a permanent basis, so it would be ideal for someone who is looking forward to a long term position.
