Description:
A credit control job in Central Birmingham.An career opportunity has arisen within an American owned financial services organisation based in central Birmingham for an experienced credit controller.
Working in a key job as part of a team you will be required to support and assist other members of your credit control team.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for 1000 live accounts
- Dealing with general day-to-day queries from both internal and external sources and to resolve customer complaints to a satisfactory conclusion.
- Assisting Cashier with the production of month end figures and daily/weekly/monthly payment runs.
- Becoming involved with the sales, purchase and general ledger maintenance and ensuring that all journals are processed prior to month end for reconciliation purposes.
- To review all third party bank statements weekly and ensure that all items have been posted to Navision
- To liaise with supervisor on a daily/weekly basis, updating them on section activities.
- Manage a key product and credit control defaulted agreements.
- To monitor all administration tasks to ensure successful receipt of all information to our Third party Finance company as per agreed SLA?s.
- Any other adhoc duties.
- Knowledge of direct debit schemes and processes is desirable
- A proven background within an accounting environment, preferably with experience or familiarity in accounts receivable/accounts payable and general ledger
- Knowledge of reconciliations and double entry book keeping would be an advantage
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal are essential
- Work on their own initiative and have a decisive nature
- Good team leadership experience is a must
- An ambitious person who is looking to enhance their career prospects would be an advantage
- They must be used to working under pressure, and have knowledge of month end procedures upto trial balance
- Be able to adhere to strict deadlines and have good attention to detail and good problem solving abilities
- Working towards a professional qualification such as AAT would be desirable but not essential
