Description:
Working for a well known international company in Maidenhead. You will be required to run the Credit Control Department managing a team of two Credit Controllers.MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
- To manage the Credit Control function, ensuring that all debt is collected in accordance with agreed payment terms ensuring the minimal amount of bad debt.
Credit Management
- Manage two credit controllers ensuring all debt is paid to terms
- Manage on?line credit checking system including annual renewal
- Run, check and authorise all month end reports.
- Review and approve all requests for extended credit ensuring all databases are updated and relevant personnel informed of decisions
- Carry out annual credit limit reviews in accordance with company procedures
- Manage the Trade Credit Policy to include ad hoc requests and the annual review
- Manage the indemnity insurance policy ensuring compliance at all times to include ad hoc requests, monthly reporting, declaration of turnover, renewal meetings with broker and appointed provider, and to carry out annual process of selecting provider for the next 12 month period.
- Liaise with perspective customers regarding credit worthiness
- Maintain and review ?Monitor? list of customers who are on watch out regarding their creditworthiness, and recommend credit limits accordingly
- Analyse and monitor approved extended credit (seasonal and other) to summarise cost in interest and cashflow affected by such requests
- To ensure SAP is updated with limited company numbers on a timely basis
- To review the company Terms & Conditions of Sale on a timely basis and make appropriate changes as required ensuring that they comply with UK law. To ensure that all company stationary is updated with the new terms.
- Propose new process regarding the setting of credit control cash targets to ensure that credit controllers maximise collection techniques in order to achieve these targets.
- Propose potential reward process for achievement of targets
- Review current Credit Policy and update according to changes in Company procedure. Reissue to the business
- Insured Accounts ? work on SAP solution to ensure that credit limits on insured accounts are not exceeded
- User Guides ? create guides for all processes within the Credit Manager role
- To work on other projects as defined by the Customer Service Manager as requested
Information & Communication
- To ensure that any information in relation to a potential adverse event is transmitted to the UK Pharmacovigilance Department within 24 hours of receipt.
Specific Technical Skills
- Working knowledge of Terms and Conditions creation and/or modification
- System development experience in the Credit Management area
- Indemnity Insurance experience
- Online Credit Checking experience
Previous Work Experience - Extensive people management skills
- Development of a Credit Management function ? systems/processes/people
Other requirements - Flexible approach to working, ability to prioritise workload as required
- Good all round commercial knowledge of business in general
