Description:

Credit Product Managers

Liverpool

In the world of retail, things happen fast. Especially at Shop Direct, where we focus on doing what’s right for our customers. Our credit products generate a substantial part of our overall income, which is why we’re building a new team to review and build on our current product portfolio. Whether they choose to pay on purchase, select an interest free option or go for a buy now pay later scheme, we want to develop a suite of products to match our customers’ lifestyles and evolving needs.
About the role
In this role, you’ll have P&L responsibility for developing and delivering credit product initiatives for our direct or our embedded customers and assessing risk / observing regulatory compliance. This means you’ll work closely with colleagues across the group to optimise profitability in line with broader business objectives, whilst keeping an eye on gaining competitor advantage. Commercially astute, you’ll be able to translate complex credit product solutions, in a concise easy-to-understand way while building relationships to influence and motivate broader teams as to their business advantage and then carrying them through to fruition.

About you
Owing to the high visibility and bottom-line impact of this role, you’ll need to bring significant and demonstrable product management experience within the financial services arena – ideally with credit product knowledge. A graduate, your proven product management development track record will give you the gravitas you need to succeed, as will your strong negotiation, communication and decision-making skills. Naturally you’ll thrive on working under pressure, often to tight deadlines.

About us
With companies ranging from Littlewoods, Kays and Very through to Marshall Ward and Woolworths.co.uk, and some 400 national and own brands such as Nike, Diesel, Miss Sixty, Dyson, Bosch and Sony, Shop Direct has something for everyone. We have our own financial services business and, with a turnover of £1.6 billion and with 5 million customers overall, we’re the largest home shopping and online retailer in the UK. Some 56% of our products are now sold online – and we’re on track to hit our target of 80% by 2010/2011. In fact, we want to become the home of online retail. And you could help us get there.
