A credit risk analyst job in Oldbury, Birmingham.A new opportunity for a credit risk analyst or an experienced credit controller who has had exposure to credit vetting and risk to work for a successful multi national organisation.

Working within a team of 5 analysts daily duties will include:
- Experience in dealing with difficult customers and managing a rapid turnaround of complex queries until a satisfactory conclusion in reached.
- Analyse payment performance of existing customers to assess credit situation prior to contract renewal and throughout contract period via internal methods
- Credit vet accounts using Experian and Equifax
- Collection of credit risk/insured accounts by all available mean of communication
- To continually improve existing processes and ensure best practice is adopted to avoid bad debt occurrence
- To liaise with the sales team to recommend and secure required terms to ensure that potential new customers & renewals are set up on appropriate payment method and terms
- To identify enquiries falling within the Credit Insurance and Commodity Risk Control criteria to ensure appropriate measures and controls are practiced
- To utilise risk controls including Credit Insurance, Security Deposits and Parent Company Guarantees where appropriate to minimise exposure to bad debt
- Maintain a good working knowledge of systems, billing parameters and be aware of the financial implications of any action taken
- Knowledge of credit control standards of practice and ledger management
- Ability to act quickly on intelligence received from internal and external sources and formulating loss minimising solutions within Credit Policy parameters
- Continually review, manage and improve the performance of the risk portfolio
