Overview

The role is responsible for maximising our data capability in order to optimise the effectiveness of our Fraud strategy and policy across all products and all fraud types.
The role is also accountable for the reduction of our fraud losses through the effective management and monitoring of various fraud models and systems in place such as Falcon

Responsibilities

• Construct short term and long-term plans with associated benefits of strategies that are to be developed to reduce fraud across all UKCF portfolios (e.g. Credit Card, Debit Card, Advances, and Transactions).
• Evaluate, analyse and leverage a range of statistical and written information in order to recommend, review and implement decisions that will have a positive impact on the P&L of each UKCF Fraud portfolio.
• Supervise analysis of current and historic data (e.g. authorizations, write off data) to keep our systems at the cutting edge of fraud detection.
• Supervise regular evaluation of fraud strategies that are implemented from both an operational and financial benefit perspective. Suggest changes and improvements as necessary.
• Accountable for providing expert consultancy to stakeholders in order to support strategic agenda
• Accountable for communicating proposed strategies and for delivering appropriate reporting and MI.
• Responsible for the performance management of all staff under their control
• Develop and retain a team of world –class analytical talent
• Assist staff in developing technical skill, business acumen, project management, statistical analysis and stakeholder management.
• Contribute to the development of a high –performance culture
• Optimise and own UKCF Fraud’s data and analysis architecture
• Investigate and evaluate new fraud detection tools and systems.




Candidate Profile

• Proficiency in performing data analysis utilizing a standard statistical package such as
SAS (preferred) or SPSS.
• A clear understanding of the methods underlying predictive modeling.
• 4-6 years of experience in the financial industry.
• Completion of a degree in a numerate or semi-numerate subject
• A self-motivated team player who is able to define, structure and prioritize work for self
as well as others, but who also has the flexibility and capability to change priorities when circumstances dictate.
• The ability to understand and commission complex analysis to support strategy testing.
