Description:

An international law firm based in the City is looking for an experienced credit control professional from a legal/partnership background to join its revenue team.


Reporting into the Revenue Manager, this is a proactive role where the candidate will be expected to seek to improve and maintain optimum debtor days, ensure efficiently of the collection processes, and advise partners on acknowledged best practice.


Duties include:
  • Responsible for ensuring the accuracy on a timely basis of client billing data
  • Proactive review with partners to ensure accuracy and improve practices.
  • Responsible for ensuring fee deals are correctly maintained.
  • Record and track receivables and manage aged receivables
  • Ensure that internal and external debtors are correctly recorded.
  • Monitor levels of outstanding debts and propose cash collections.
  • Issue debtor reports (weekly and monthly) and meet with partners to agree cash collection targets and achievement of target.
  • Attend monthly meetings with partners to discuss and agree collection strategy on all outstanding bills.
  • Liaise with clients on a daily basis resolving queries by telephone and in writing, knowing which medium of communication is most appropriate.
  • Ensure ARC?s notes are accurate and kept up-to-date ensuring all follow-ups are actioned at the correct point in time.
  • Ensure that monthly reviews are undertaken of debtors to identify write-offs and provisional balances.
  • Liaise with billing team regarding credit notes and re-issued invoices.
  • Process receipts: Liaise with Cashiers office regarding allocation of receipts ensuring 100% accuracy in postings.
 

Skills required:
  • Previous credit control experience within a legal/partnership environment is essential
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to interact with and influence partners and senior managers
  • Effective writing and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage and motivate people
  • Ability to work under pressure at high levels of performance
