Job Title: Retail Credit Risk Analysts x 2
Location: Manchester City Centre
Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 + Bonus & Package

Overview
Implement the Bank’s credit risk strategy by design and maintenance of credit risk models, strategies and decision systems, whilst optimising the balance of risk versus reward. (Assignments will vary across Retail; Corporate & Wholesale teams depending on practice assignment, initial assignment will be within the Retail teams)

The Department
The Credit Risk Department has the prime responsibility for the optimisation of credit risk for Retail, Corporate and Wholesale products to ensure that the Bank meets it’s established appetite for risk.

The scope of the departments activities include:

• Development of credit / behavioural scoring models and systems
• Development of strategy for the control of bad debt, including bad debt forecasting.
• Recommendation and implementation of credit risk strategies and policy
• Adhering to all the relevant regulation and legislation affecting the management of Credit Risk including achieving Basel II compliance.
• Maintaining a responsible lending view at all times.
• Reflecting industry trends, UK consumer lending and market conditions at all times.

The departments’ activities interface with every business activity across the banking operation and require broad business / financial knowledge as well as the analytical skills to develop and manage the risk models in line with the Bank’s risk appetite. Rotation within the team is encouraged.

Candidate Profile
• Numerate degree.
• Experience of Credit Risk Management. For example, detailed working knowledge of credit risk scorecards and decision systems, experience of liaising with other business areas and experience of designing and interpreting analysis to resolve business issues.
• Experience of developing and producing analytical reports using Microsoft Office products. Basic knowledge of Word, Access and PowerPoint and more detailed knowledge of Excel including spreadsheet design, using formulas and macros, setting up links between spreadsheets and producing graphs in a variety of formats.
• Experience of SAS programming.
