An excellent opportunity for a Senior Risk Analyst to join the Fraud department of a leading retail bank in Leeds.

The Role

To develop fraud management and information systems and to ensure their effective operation.

Accountabilities
1. Develops, implements and maintains fraud management systems to control the underwriting of applications and the management of established customer accounts.
2. Specifies information systems to monitor the performance of lending portfolios, strategies and scorecards.
3. Assists in designing new fraud and behaviour scoring strategies and reviews existing ones in order to improve the quality of lending and increase the profitability of accounts.
4. Regularly reports on the performance of portfolios and fraud management systems, highlighting trends/key features.
5. Undertakes complex, ad hoc investigations into the causes of poor account/system performance.
6. Liaises with Head Office departments to resolve operational problems associated with the use of scoring systems, and to establish management information requirements.
7. Provide advice on fraud management approaches to other departments and the Field.
8. Carry out analyses to validate the work of external scoring consultants for accuracy.

Candidate Specification

• 3 years experience in the use of scoring and related techniques in consumer lending.
• Degree in mathematics or similar numerate subject.
• Detailed knowledge of risk assessment methodologies.
• Sound knowledge of lending products and systems.
• Practical experience in the development of models and management information systems using computer software packages such as SAS.
• Good problem solving and communication skills.
• Proven ability to influence and establish credibility with senior management teams, demonstrating impact/influence on the strategic development of the business as a whole.
• Outstanding communication skills impacting on ability to influence at all levels within organisation.
• Results focused, enthusiastic and committed, with the resilience to drive through organisational issues and barriers.
• Demonstrate People Leadership: Motivation and development of a knowledge driven highly numerate management team and the identification of appropriate management structures and resources required to enable a sophisticated growth lending business.

The basic salary on offer for this role is circa £35,000 plus bonus (20%), shares, healthcare, pension etc…
