Description:
The Statistical Credit Risk Manager reports directly to the Head of Risk and manages the credit risk analyst. This role is independent from the lending and collection functions. The primary responsibilities are the design / selection, implementation, oversight and monitoring of the Residential and Specialised lending rating systems under the advanced IRB approach.Active involvement in respect of the models design, implementation, on-going monitoring of the models. In addition the unit has an active involvement in the selection of independent expert.
· Review of monthly model monitoring reports and triggers.
· Production and interpretation of specific risk reports to the Board, Group Risk Committee and Credit Committee.
· Production and interpretation of monthly management information.
· Explain complex applications and principles to people who may not be familiar to Basel II.
· Annual review and documentation of the lending and collection functions in order to establish if any changes to processes impact the predictive capabilities of the models.
· Oversight and supervision of models used in the rating systems.
· Production of ongoing comprehensive documentation.
· Assisting the Credit Risk Manager in monitoring the performance of the underwriting scorecard
· Present detailed reports to members of the Group Risk and Credit Committees.
· Be responsible for the ongoing business relationship with their outsourcer, The jobholder will also be expected to have ongoing contact with the FSA.
The Statistical Credit Risk Manager should:
· Have a comprehensive knowledge of the Basel 2 Accord
· Highly numerate and able to work with complex statistical concepts
· Extensive computer skills including knowledge of database techniques and appreciation of data acquisition from large core mainframe systems.
· Ability to communicate ideas and concepts (which may be complex) to experts and non-experts alike
