The Company
Robert Half are currently recruiting for a Finance Assistant to join a market leading Wholesale/Distribution Business in Central Birmingham.
The Role
As part of the centralised UK Accounting Team, you will be required to work closely with branches to maximise the cash flow and report on income and expenditure. As an experienced Finance Assistant/Credit Controller you will have the sole responsibility of setting up client accounts - credit vetting etc, producing debtor reports for branches and liaising closely with internal stakeholders. Candidates MUST have at least 6 months finance experience, the ability to build rapport with external and internal clients and the enthusiasm to develop within the business.
Salary & Benefits
For the right candidate a competitive base salary of £16,000 is offered plus study support for ICM/AAT

Reporting into the Finance supervisor you will be responsible for income generation / collections and sales ledger administration
- Processing of daily cash receipts
- Reconciliations of bank accounts, suspense items, and control accounts
- Preparation, review and submission of BACS files
- Processing of cashbook journals for all companies
- Sales ledger admin includes - maintain invoice agreements, reconcile control accounts and administering debtors letters etc
Applicants should have at least two years in an all round accounting position. Candidates must have sales ledger / banking and general ledger experience. knowledge of Double entry bookkeeping is essential.
This position may suit someone studying towards or qualified AAT or an individual with good bookkeeping / accounts assistant experience.
