Accounts Assistant Jobs

Role Overview

Working as an Accounts Assistant enables an individual to gain great exposure to a variety of finance work.  Often individuals will have gained experience in a specific area of finance such as purchase/bought or sales ledger and will then move into a broader role.
On a daily basis an Accounts Assistant will deal with:

• Queries involving under or overpayments from internal or external customers.
• Reconciliations of internal accounts
• Posting entries to adjust outstanding items or correct errors throughout the month
• Data entry and developing strong relationships with key suppliers

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Potential candidates will need to show evidence of the following:

• Strong verbal communication skills to liaise with suppliers
• Excellent workload management and organisational skills
• Eye for detail
• Great customer service
• Excellent interpersonal, team-working and communication skills;
• Good IT literacy as information technology now plays a part in every aspect of banking
• A reasonable level of numeracy

Average Salaries London

Accounts Assistant 

£13,000 - £17,000 

Senior Accounts Assistant 

£17,000 - £23,000
