Role Overview

Credit and Collections Managers play an integral part in business today. On a daily basis, the Credit and Collections Manager oversees the collections of accounts receivable and monitors daily sales activity to ensure corporate credit policies are being followed. By implementing appropriate credit and collection standards and policies, credit and collections managers are ultimately responsible for improving customer satisfaction and, therefore, retention. The ability to assure customer payments so that management’s sales goals can be attained is an ongoing balancing act. Credit and Collections Managers may also be responsible for the training and education of designated customer service representatives in credit/collection policies and procedures.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
To be a good collections manager you need a working knowledge of Consumer Credit Act 1974, Data Protection Act 1998 and The Administration of Justice Act 1970 Section 40 (1). In depth knowledge of collections processes and procedures.
Good Supervisory/Management experience within a collections or debt recovery environment. Comprehensive knowledge of internal business processes & procedures.

10.Excellent “Customer Focus” approach
A degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field and four years of experience in collections management would normally be required, however an equivalent combination of education and experience.
